If you follow my blog or see me in person, you will know that I get this progesterone shot weekly starting last week due to my high risk pregnancy status. Well, since then I was getting these terrible headaches. Yesterday, my nurse came to give me my second shot. When she does, she checks my blood pressure, listens to my heart, etc. Also she asks me questions about how I am feeling and goes through a checklist asking if I feel this or that. One of them was headaches! So I told her "actually, yes I have been getting headaches!" and she assured me that they are from the shots and that is the most common side effect from them. She also asked on a scale of one to ten, how bad they were. I told her that I never get headaches so when I do they always feel like an 8 when it is likely a 2. Being the awesome nurse she is, she laughed at horribly told joke :) (Cole later laughed at me so telling it at all)
Anyways, the headaches were sooo bad the night before that I started to throw up from the dizziness. From there my hips were in so much pain, I couldn't sleep or sit or lay in any kind of comfortable position. I was miserable. Thankfully, Cole worked from home the following morning and then took Elyse to day care so I could rest. Thankfully that helped a lot. But those hip pains were some of the most painful things I have ever had next to the pain of my gaul bladder. I never went into labor so I can't compare to that( and for some reason it sometimes makes me feel a little less of a woman for never having gone through labor) but it was so terrible. Nothing would make it feel better and I had the overshadowing feeling of "I need to take care of my child. How am I going to do that alone?" It's not like I have tons of people around that can just come over at the drop of a hat to help when something is wrong.
But Cole suggested the day care idea and I was very happy. When I am not well to the point that I am afraid I can't take care of my child enough, I would pay money to have someone help. And that is exactly what we did.
Anyways, today I am a little better. The hip pain is there today but much more mild. Elyse seems to be in a good mood which always makes things easier for me! Although she has decided its "pick on the pug" day. We are also trying to start potty training. It's a little early, but we want to start early. She is usually warming up to the idea, but she doesn't completely understand that its not a toy... for example, today it was a...
Hat!!
Hat for pug...
Then a lion's mane for pug...
Later she started placing blocks on top of him..Poor guy, hes been reduced to a child's jungle gym.
On another note, I am 17 weeks and 1 day today! Woo hoo! So our little baby is the size of a sweet potato! Heres the bump pick from last week.
I've decided I HATE every picture with my face in it. So, like last time, we are just going to do without the face :) And next time(20weeks) Elyse is going to hold the sign for me :) (and maybe no plug in the picture ) haha
